Posted by Josephus on Nov 20, 2007 09:08 am
Five days ago the new "Alumni Today" Gallery was posted. It's purpose is to give you good people the opportunity to let us see photos of your trips here in the US or abroad. If you would like to participate, gather your photos together and burn them to a CD. Once you have done this, send them to me at the below address:

Joe Tully
4904 W. County Rd. 796
Lepanto, AR 72354

Once I receive your photos I will create a new album for them in the Alumni Today Gallery.

Dennie Wann Golf Tournament in April 2008
Posted by Josephus on Oct 22, 2007 01:12 pm
I'm posting this a little early (understatement), but I enjoyed the last one so much I thought I would post something about it.

I love the Scrapper Alumni tournaments! If they had twenty a year, I would try to play in all of them.

Dennie's tournament, played at the Marion Golf & Athletic Club in Marion, AR, was a real "trip" last May. If you've never played this course, you must give it a try. I've never seen so much water in my life! There are lakes and ponds everywhere! Because I was not familiar with the course I lost eight balls to the "briny deep"! (I usually carry qiite a few extra golf balls, but this day presented quite a logistical challenge.) As there is so much water, your "steering gear" kicks in and, as any golfer knows, that's not good. Just aim it, grip it, and rip it is the best thing to do. But when water is involved, all the basics go right out the window with most folks and the result is usually a soggy golf ball that can't be retrieved. Laying two and only one stoke has been made! Woof! It's going to be a long day.

Most amateur golfers (duffers) like courses that are flat, short, and featureless. I'm not that way. I prefer something interesting like Marion Golf & Athletic Club. If you enjoy a challenge, come on out and join us next April.

I'll try to post a reminder at the appropriate time.

I will once again make the attempt to keep this page updated so you can find the most recent additions/changes/new features of the Web site. This will also include updates to the Scrapper Alumni Ladies and Rambling sub-sites. One place for everthing, don't ya see?
